The Aussies really know how to put on a firework masterpiece, millions gather along the foreshore and on boats to catch this stunning 15-minute breath-taking view. This city of night owls kick start the party at about 11 pm. The crowd gather at Plaça d’Espanya to watch the midnight pyrotechnics on Montjuïc, the hill just above. The party is said to last up till 6am!
Europe’s new capital of cool is at Praça do Comércio, the main square right on the Tagus River. As typical as things get in Portugal, the fiesta runs late. RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL
Does midsummer New Year sound good to you? We know your inner party animal will appreciate as the locals take to the beach. A whopping two million people gather on the 2.5-mile-long Copacabana for samba, Champagne and fireworks on New Year’s Eve. Since it’ll be super busy, remember to grab a spot from 10 pm onwards and to wear white on NYE as it is said to bring luck for the New Year.
One of Asia’s top picks for best nightlife cities: vibrant and roaring is Bangkok. Central World Plaza is one of the main gathering spots to celebrate the New Year, many describe it as magical.
