KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA, 8th SEPTEMBER 2015 – The ASEAN Franchise Expo & Symposium (AFES) 2015 was held at MATRADE Exhibition & Convention Centre (MECC) that is strategically located midway between Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya. There were two components in AFES, which included a three-day exhibition and a three-day symposium.
In 2015, ASEAN has achieved a total business transaction of more than US$2.6 Trillion. Indeed, ASEAN has successfully accelerating the economic growth of Southeast Asian Nations. This year, Malaysia is the Chair of ASEAN Economical Community (AEC) and the theme of its ASEAN Chairmanship is “Our People, Our Community, Our Vision”. Malaysia is a rapidly developing nation and being part of ASEAN is taking the initiative to encourage the development of the franchise industry in the ASEAN region.
AFES 2015 was an initiative organized by ASEAN Retail-Chains & Franchise Federation (ARFF) to realize the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) Blue Print. The main objective of AFES was to create a platform to assist companies and individuals entering emerging markets in the ASEAN countries, constantly looking for new growth opportunity. In addition, AFES encouraging companies to network, share their knowledge and exchanging ideas.
In AFES 2015, there were over 80 exhibitors from different countries such as China, Singapore, Japan, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia as well as Malaysia. These companies were from different industries such as property, retail, apparel or fashion, textile, travel, technology, consumption and so forth. FLEXIROAM was also one of the exhibitors that participated in AFES 2015. The participation of FLEXIROAM was an expansion strategy to ASEAN Countries. In fact, FLEXIROAM is expanding its business to several countries this year such as Thailand, Indonesia, Philippine, Hong Kong and so forth. The FLEXIROAM booth was located right in the center of Hall B of MATRADE Exhibition & Convention Centre (MECC). AFES has served as a great channel to establish business tie and presence outside the borders of Malaysia. It has created a convenience to avoid hectic bureaucratic procedures.
An Opening Ceremony was held at 10am on the first day of AFES 2015 (4th September) before the Exhibition started. The President of ARFF – Dato’ Richard Koh had given a speech on the Opening Ceremony followed by the Chairman of AFES 2015 – Prof. Dato’ Jayles Yeoh and the Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Malaysia – Dato’ Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah. FLEXIROAM has been given an opportunity to manage of the entire flow of the Opening Ceremony of AFES 2015.
After the Opening Ceremony, Dato’ Richard Koh, Dato’ Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah, Prof Dato’ Jayles Yeoh and the Organizing Committees of AFES have visited FLEXIROAM’s booth. FLEXIROAM’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing – Mr. Nicholas Yeap has presented them the FLEXIROAM latest innovations in the market that is considered to be highly competitive. Allowing the global travelers to stay connected all over the world without occurring exorbitant roaming charges. The guests of honor were really amazed of such service that Malaysian private sectors are gauged with. In addition, Mr. Nicholas Yeap had an opportunity to give a token of appreciation to visitors and took a group picture with them right after.
AFES 2015 was a great platform for FLEXIROAM to expose its brand and get connected with potential business partners. Other than the exhibition, there were also symposiums for all three days in AFES 2015. The symposium provided the industry players an opportunity to gain timely, useful and relevant insights from the structured sharing of the prominent figures who will be presenting papers on franchising, retailing, e-commerce, locations and even the elements of Feng Shui in the business world.
