Lights, camera, Instagram! That’s how it is these days. How can you not when you’re in one of the fashion capitals of the world – London. Though this stunning city is filled with creative backdrops, you won’t want to miss our top 10 Instagrammable spots:
1. THE TOWER BRIDGE
Not to be confused with London Bridge (the song that we sang as kids), The Tower Bridge was officially launched by the Prince of Wales over 120 years ago. Its magnificent architecture and building is a core element to any Instagram photo. You can sit by the bank, you can strike a pose on the bridge, or even stare across the river looking melancholic.
2. PEGGY PORSCHEN PARLOUR
Sitting pretty in pink, covered in a swirl of pink flowers, it is arguably the most adorable café in London. Peggy Porschen is no stranger to girls posing in front of its doors. Opened in 2011, it serves a spread of cakes, cookies, and teas. Many described the food as delicious and as pretty as the café itself.
3. NOTTING HILL
This brightly coloured row of structures features vibrant and trendy cafes, vintage markets, upscale boutiques, and everything Instagrammable. You won’t be able to resist striking a pose in front of these adorable houses. Home to the self-titled movie, this street is photographed and filmed too often.
Do note that residents have expressed their frustration because of loud and long photoshoots disrupting the household. So, be mindful when photographing for your new profile picture or for your Instagram stories.
4. NEAL’S YARD
Formerly a waste area filled with bins, Neal’s Yard is now a complete courtyard of dreams. It’s now a home to colourful aesthetic houses, independent restaurants, cafes, bars, and shops. Nicholas Saunders was responsible for the street’s makeover. He used his entrepreneurial skills to rescue this space and create the buzz. A sight not to be missed!
5. LEADENHALL MARKET
The cobbled streets bring us to Leadenhall Market, a quaint covered market featuring boutique retail markets, family-friendly restaurants, and traditional bars. Its interior is the right amount of regal and rustic. In other words, it’s such an excellent addition to your Instagram feed.
6. OXFORD STREET
Here’s the best place to spot London’s iconic red double-decker buses. Oxford Street is probably the busiest street in London. It is pulsating with energy. As a result, it will be visible in the photographs you take. The road is exceptionally stunning during Christmas time with its elaborate light fixtures.
7. BIG BEN
You can’t say you’ve been to London unless you’ve visited Big Ben. This glorious clock tower makes any shot a winner as it fills the frame effortlessly with its charm. Fun fact, the name “Big Ben” refers to the massive bell inside the clock tower and not the tower itself, it weighs more than 13 tons (13,760 kg).
Big Ben is currently under renovation until 2021, you could still see one of the faces of Big Ben though it is surrounded by scaffolding.
8. BUCKINGHAM PALACE
Buckingham Palace is typically swarmed with tourists. But if you can find a spot (or two) for your shot, the massive gates make a magnificent Victorian backdrop. Stay to catch the Changing of the Guards Ceremony, to see how the guards look after the royals. Feel free to sneak a picture with them too.
We have found the world’s most gorgeously, funky, and futuristic bathroom in the world. Yes, the bathroom. The pods and trippy panels on the ceiling are enough to get your strutting and flaunting. Sketch in Mayfair is the epitome of marrying food, drinks, music and art. This modern and quirky restaurant will take you on a gastronomic experience. There are different sections, which are the Parlour, the Lecture Room & Library, the Glade, the Gallery, and the East Bar & Pods. Read about them all here.
10. CARNABY STREET
There’s a sensational spirit about Carnaby. You will get great neon and punk-inspired elements in your Instagram-worthy picture here. From being the birthplace of Swinging London in the 1960s to the street style tribes today, Carnaby Street has and always will be the epicentre of London culture and lifestyle in London’s West End. Carnaby is grand and eventful, therefore marches to its own drum.
